Professor Usman Akram is a Computer Engineer specializing in Medical Image and Signal Analysis, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence for healthcare applications. With over 18 years of teaching, research, and innovation experience, Dr. Usman has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed research publications and supervised 21 PhD and over 100 MS scholars. He holds more than 30 intellectual property rights, out of which 14 have been successfully licensed to industry, reflecting strong translational and commercialization impact. Two of his AI-driven healthcare products are currently deployed in more than 25 hospitals and clinics and are being used by over 400 families across 19 countries. In recognition of his scientific contributions and innovation leadership, Dr. Usman has received multiple national and international awards, including the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz conferred by the Government of Pakistan.
